How to Update Galaxy S PLUS I9001 with ICS Nexus Styled Custom ROM Firmware
Users of rooted Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001 can now smile as an all new Galaxy Nexus styled custom ROM firmware can now be installed in your device. Please be informed that this is not an Official firmware released by Samsung Electronics and unfortunately there won’t be any ICS or Jellybean 4.1 update release by Samsung Officially. - All the data in your device should be backed up so that just in case if the data gets erased or corrupted, the same can be restored with the help of below mentioned steps. Don’t backup the data with the help of KIES PC Suite as it doesn’t detect the
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,Call Log - Call Log and RestoreImages, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Enable USB Debugging Mode in your Samsung Galaxy S PLUS I9001 from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Disable / uninstall all the security suites installed in your device as these interrupt the process of firmware update.
- Ensure that the minimum battery left in your device is not less than 40% or else it may turn off the device in middle which is dangerous.

Procedure to Update Galaxy S PLUS I9001 with My Simple ROM Firmware:
- Download My Simple Custom ROM firmware Package in your computer. Once downloaded, connect your Galaxy S PLUS I9001 from here to your computer and place the downloaded zip file in your phone, Ensure that you are not placing the zip file deep into the sub folders.
- Disconnect the device and turn off the device so that it can be then entered in the recovery mode.
- Recovery mode in Galaxy S PLUS I9001 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.
